What you will do:

    The IREF Design Engineer supports the iREF Middle East And Africa Design and Engineering team by assisting with pre and post sales activities related to design, supply and build Industrial Refrigeration Systems and iREF equipment project opportunities.

    Pre-sales activities include but are not limited to: reviewing tender documentation provided by customer or consultant, conducting site survey, participating in technical meeting with customer or consultant, developing initital technical calculation and system concept design, selection of Industrial Refrigeration equipment, estimation cost of all components for iREF System, preparing cost book, quotation text as well as process flow diagrams. This role will receive direction, coaching support from Regional Engineering Manager and sales leadership on pre-sale needs and expectation.

    Post sales activities include project execution that is profitable, accurate, on-time, within the scope of the contract and in alignment with customers’ expectations. Industrial Refrigeration Design Engineer will develop and review detailed engineering solutions and documentation, guide CAD Engineers, prepare technical submittals to communicate design, configuration, operating and installation requirements to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls operation team and necessary subcontractors. Reviewing technical documentation and drawings produced internally and by our supplier, develop design brief and sequence of operation, technical support during start-up and commisioning, troubleshooting.

    IREF Design Engineer beside pre-sales and post sales support will be involved in technical support and assistance of iREF MEA AfterMarket team in projects related to retrofit or upgrade of existing refrigeration systems.

    Also, works with assigned sales and operation team to maintain and effective balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results when performing pre-sales and or post sales duties.

    How you will do it

    You will be,

    • Supporting detailed estimating of projects at pre-sales activities. Together with Sales Managers, presenting it to client.

    • Technically leading pre-sales activities from reviewing tender documents till securing the project.

    • Assisting as needed in developing the customers’ business case for conceptual solution. 

    • Providing technical support, selections and estimating support to Sales managers related to the new project or AfterMarket retrofit projects at pre-sales phase .

    • Providing input to the sales management organization for opportunity prioritization & qualification.

    • Preparing customers proposals quote letters for assigned projects, cost book, estimate timeframe schedule, process flow diagram and initial layouts together with assigned CAD engineer.

    • Conducting handover meetings to the project management team when project is secured.

    • Proactively supporting value added sales.

    • Validating assumptions made during the proposal and pre-sales phase. Builds a detailed cost estimate and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with sales. Assists in reviewing final proposals and other customer communication documents as well as assists with any design work required.

    • Securing best available pricing for the selected equipment in cooperation with team members from the Supply Chain Department.

    • Performing proactive risk assessments for projects.

    • Tracking project cost of all assigned projects, looking in a way how to optimise the design and get cost optimisation.

    • Performing site-surveys in existing buildings to inspect overall operation of control systems and unique job considerations for construction.

    • Effectively communicating project engineering progress to all management team that has a need to know.

    • Completing the detailed design and engineering works during the execution process.

    • Reviewing all technical design documentation before issuing to customer and operation team.

    • Doing all refrigeration related calculation, like heat load calculation,pipes size, and etc.

    • Being responsible for generating technical content Purchase Orders, for all material and equipment, selects orders, working very closely with all parties (operation manager, procurement mangers, suppliers).

    • In addition to the above mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.

    What we look for:

    Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent through experience.

    • Five years experience in designing industrial refrigeration systems or large complex commercial refrigeration systems.

    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, (with emphasis on Word, Excel and Visio), and basic Windows operating system environment.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage a large and diverse number of projects with professionalism, cooperation and persistence.

    • Demonstrated ability to organizational and attention to details.

    • Team builder.

    • Thorough and structured in your work.

    • Self-driven.

    • Can plan and manage your own time.

    • Good communication skills.

    • Good English language skills.

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision attention.

    • Good knowledge of modern CAD systems like: AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor.

    • Ability to make 3D/2D drawings in CAD system.
