Position Overview

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Content & Data Migration Specialist to join our Global Marketing IT team. In this role, you will execute content and data migrations from multiple legacy platforms into Sitecore SXA and Sitecore XM Cloud, supporting our global digital transformation and transition to a composable, cloud‑native Sitecore ecosystem.

You will play a critical role in migrating structured and unstructured content, digital assets, and metadata into Sitecore XM Cloud, Sitecore Content Hub, and related platforms while ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance. A key focus of this role is adopting an automation‑first and AI‑assisted mindset, leveraging Sitecore AI capabilities, GenAI tools, and automation frameworks to reduce manual effort, accelerate delivery, and improve quality.

You will collaborate closely with global marketing, product, UX, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure migrated content is optimized for personalization, omnichannel delivery, and future AI‑driven experiences, including Sitecore Personalize.

Key Responsibilities

Sitecore Content & Data Migration

• Lead and manage the migration of content, assets, and metadata from multiple legacy systems into Sitecore SXA and Sitecore XM Cloud, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business goals.

• Execute end‑to‑end migration processes including data extraction, transformation, enrichment, and loading while maintaining data quality and governance standards.

• Partner with Sitecore architects and developers to translate legacy data structures into Sitecore‑compatible, scalable, and composable content models.

Sitecore Content Hub & Asset Migration

• Plan and execute migration of digital assets, metadata, and taxonomies into Sitecore Content Hub.

• Ensure consistent DAM structure, metadata normalization, classification, and alignment with brand governance standards.

• Support integrations between Content Hub, XM Cloud, and downstream channels.

Personalization, AI & GenAI Enablement

• Prepare and structure content to support Sitecore Personalize, enabling experience personalization, segmentation, and experimentation.

• Leverage Sitecore AI and GenAI tools for:

  • Automated content classification, enrichment, and tagging

  • Content summarization, normalization, and transformation

  • Migration validation, anomaly detection, and QA acceleration

• Collaborate with UX, analytics, and personalization teams to ensure migrated content is optimized for AI‑driven decisioning and engagement.

Content Data Analysis & Optimization

• Assess and analyze legacy content for quality, redundancy, structure, and relevance prior to migration.

• Define and execute comprehensive content mapping, taxonomy, and metadata strategies across platforms.

• Perform migration QA, validation, and reconciliation to ensure content renders correctly and performs as expected in XM Cloud and SXA.

Automation & Tool Development

• Develop and maintain automation scripts, migration tools, and reusable frameworks to support large‑scale content and data migrations.

• Utilize GenAI‑assisted tooling to reduce manual effort, speed up transformations, and improve consistency.

• Continuously monitor migration performance and identify opportunities to optimize speed, accuracy, and cost.

Collaboration with Cross‑Functional Teams

• Partner with global marketing, content owners, product managers, analytics, IT, and Sitecore development teams to define and execute migration strategies.

• Act as a subject‑matter expert for Sitecore content, XM Cloud, Content Hub, and migration best practices.

• Provide frequent communication and status updates to stakeholders throughout migration initiatives.

Content Governance & Best Practices

• Enforce content governance standards including SEO, accessibility, taxonomy, metadata, and lifecycle management.

• Ensure migrated content aligns with headless, omnichannel, and personalization‑ready best practices.

• Advocate for Sitecore composable DXP principles and scalable content modeling.

Training, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Create and maintain detailed documentation for migration processes, tools, and AI‑assisted workflows.

• Provide training and guidance to team members on Sitecore migration, Content Hub usage, and automation practices.

• Stay current with Sitecore XM Cloud, AI innovations, GenAI capabilities, and emerging content technologies to continuously improve migration approaches.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Marketing, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in Sitecore content and data migration or a similar role.

• Strong hands‑on experience with Sitecore SXA and Sitecore XM Cloud.

• Experience migrating content, assets, and metadata from legacy CMS platforms into modern, cloud‑based systems.

• Proven experience with Sitecore Content Hub (DAM) migrations, metadata modeling, and taxonomy management.

• Proficiency with data analysis and migration tools.

• Strong understanding of SEO, content governance, metadata, and accessibility best practices.

• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments collaborating with cross‑functional global teams.

AI, Personalization & Modern DX

• Experience with Sitecore Personalize or similar personalization and experimentation platforms.

• Hands‑on experience using GenAI or AI‑assisted tools for content transformation, migration automation, QA, or enrichment.

• Familiarity with Sitecore AI features and preparing content for AI‑driven experiences.

• Understanding of analytics‑driven personalization and content optimization.

Certifications

• Sitecore Certifications (SXA, XM Cloud, Content Hub, or Experience Platform).

• Cloud or AI‑related certifications are a plus.
