    At Johnson Controls, we are reimagining marketing as a strategic engine for growth. As we expand our vertical marketing function, we are hiring a Senior Marketing Manager to lead and scale our Global Marine & Navy vertical, with a clear focus on accelerating growth in strategic accounts through setting up an ABM centric demand generation & content-led structure to fuel growth.

    Based in the Netherlands, this role sits at the crossroads of field marketing, ABM, and content marketing, driving impact through close collaboration with global campaign squads, sales teams, and subject matter experts.

    You will shape the marketing narrative, build demand, and help sales engage deeper with customers, starting with Marine & Navy, and scaling to other strategic industries as the portfolio expands.

    How will you do it

    Vertical Ownership & Strategic Execution

    • Own the end-to-end marketing strategy for the Global Marine & Navy vertical, aligning with global campaigns, regional field teams, and vertical business leaders.

    • Drive ABM initiatives that support customer acquisition, account penetration, and strategic pipeline development in top global accounts.

    • Localize and adapt value propositions and messaging to resonate with industry-specific challenges and buyer journeys.

    ABM & Strategic Account Support

    • Partner with sales and business development teams to develop highly targeted initiatives for priority accounts, leveraging content, events, and 1:1 or 1:few tactics.

    • Integrate marketing campaigns into the strategic account planning process, helping accelerate deal cycles and strengthen customer relationships.

    • Provide actionable insights on account engagement, content performance, and opportunity influence.

    Content-Led Campaign Leadership

    • Collaborate with product marketing, global campaigns, and SMEs to build industry-relevant content, thought leadership, and campaign assets.

    • Curate and deploy content across digital, social, and in-person touchpoints—ensuring relevance to key decision-makers and influencers.

    • Ensure consistent storytelling across all channels, with clear linkage to value creation and customer outcomes.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Act as a horizontal connector, working across sales, marketing, engineering, and solution teams to land impactful programs.

    • Serve as the bridge between global campaign squads and the field, ensuring the voice of the Marine & Navy market is embedded in campaign design.

    • Contribute to cross-vertical learning and scalability as other industry initiatives come online.

    What we look for

    • Extensive experience in B2B marketing, preferably with industry marketing, strategic account, or vertical-focused experience.

    • Proven experience in ABM and content marketing, with strong executional ability and business acumen.

    • Deep understanding of complex buying cycles, preferably in sectors such as industrial, marine, defence, or infrastructure.

    • Comfortable working in a global matrix environment, balancing strategic input with local execution.

    • Data-literate and outcome-driven, with experience managing KPIs such as account engagement, influenced pipeline, and program ROI.

    • Fluent in English (Dutch a plus). Located in the Netherlands with the ability to work on-site 3+ days per week (Rotterdam)
