Through this program, you'll be connected with industry partners across both the private and public sectors, allowing you to take part in internships, apprenticeships, or industry training that align with your career interests. This hands-on experience will help you develop essential job skills, explore potential career paths, and strengthen your resume. Additionally, you'll be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty, giving you the time and flexibility to fully immerse yourself in full-time training with your chosen industry partner. Hiring Our Heroes (HOH), a program by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, serves as a middleman between Johnson Controls and the DoD SkillBridge program, connecting the military community—service members, military spouses, and veterans—with Johnson Controls through various pathways, including direct hires and SkillBridge opportunities. As a strong partner, HOH helps Johnson Controls employ dedicated active-duty service members and veteran candidates, specifically targeting hard-to-fill positions within the organization.
