SAP PP-VC consultant requires a deep understanding of Production Planning and Variant Configuration, with expertise in full-cycle implementations, integration with SD/MM/FI, and business process analysis. Key responsibilities include configuring the VC module, developing solutions for make-to-order scenarios, training end-users, and providing post-go-live support, including troubleshooting and support tickets. The ideal candidate should also have strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills. 

    • Configuration and Implementation:
      • Design, configure, and implement SAP PP and Variant Configuration (VC) solutions.
      • Lead full project life cycles from blueprinting to go-live and post-go-live support.
      • Set up and manage Variant Configuration (AVC, VC, PVC) and work with SAP CPQ.
      • Configure master data such as Bills of Material (BOMs) and routings.
    • Integration:
      • Ensure seamless integration between PP-VC and other SAP modules, particularly SD, MM, and FICO.
      • Work on integration with non-SAP systems and IDoc mappings.
      • Support integration with IBP for advanced planning processes if applicable.
    • Business Process and Solutioning:
      • Analyze business requirements and design solutions that align with business objectives.
      • Develop solutions for make-to-order scenarios and other complex production planning needs.
      • Link process improvements to measurable business outcomes like yield and efficiency.
    • Support and Maintenance:
      • Provide ongoing production support, including handling tickets and troubleshooting issues.
      • Manage and maintain accurate records of production plans, costs, and inventory levels.
      • Assist with go-live preparation and post-go-live support.
    • Communication and Documentation:
      • Communicate effectively with business teams and stakeholders.
      • Create user manuals and provide training to end-users.
      • Write functional specifications for change requests and prepare test data. 

    Qualifications

    • Experience:
      • Proven experience in all life cycles of implementing SAP PP-VC solutions.
      • Completion of at least one end-to-end SAP PP-VC implementation project is often required.
      • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience is common for senior roles.

    • Technical Skills:
      • Deep functional knowledge of SAP PP and Variant Configuration.
      • Strong understanding of integration with SAP MM, SD, and FICO.
      • Hands-on experience with user-exits, BAPIs, ALE/IDOC, and EDI integrations is a plus.
      • Familiarity with Production Resource Tools, Engineering Change Management, and Shop Floor Control.
    • Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is typical.
      • Master's degree or MBA in a relevant field is often preferred.
    • Soft Skills:
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
      • Stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
