    What you will do

    APAC is a rapid growth market, with the ambition of double our business revenue, we are hiring a Senior Instructor for Building Controls based in Pune for the APAC region.  

    As a Senior Instructor for Building Controls, you’ll play a key role within our dynamic Building Efficiency product portfolio across the APAC region. Your primary focus will be delivering high-impact training to Service and Installation technicians—from their first day at JCI APAC through their career progression into Senior Engineering roles. You will do this by becoming a subject expert for our flagship controls product, Metasys, teaching technical curriculum with state-of-the-art technology, partnering with engineering, product manager, instructional designers, and learning professionals to define the best approaches, bringing problem-solving and expertise to every class you have, and being open to learning new skills as you grow in this job.  Does this sound like you?  If so, keep reading!

    How you will do it

    Assessment & Evaluation

    • Conduct individual competency assessments and map current vs. target proficiency levels using Individual Development Plans.

    • Measure training effectiveness through participant feedback, learning outcomes, and skill demonstration.

    • Evaluate on-the-job performance of former participants to assess training impact.

    • Report training outcomes to Program Leaders and Learning & Development Managers, and recommend continuous improvements.

    Training & Facilitation

    • Deliver assigned learning sessions, including live classroom and web-based formats.

    • Adapt instructional and facilitation styles to suit audience needs, content complexity, and delivery platforms.

    • Facilitate learning of advanced-level materials, processes, and systems across multiple areas of expertise.

    • Provide constructive feedback to learners on their understanding and classroom performance.

    Collaboration & Coaching

    • Support Learning Business Partners and HR Business Partners with technical education needs and inquiries.

    • Coach and develop a regional community of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure consistent training standards and resources across countries.

    • Collaborate with instructional designers and development teams to create effective, timely, and budget-conscious learning solutions.

     Logistics & Administration

    • Arrange appropriate learning environments, including room setup, AV/technical equipment, web access, and materials.

    • Maintain accurate training records, reports, and correspondence as required.

    • Continuously enhance delivery and coaching skills, incorporating new technologies and methods.

    • Maintain and upgrade lab equipment and computers used in training sessions.

    What we look for

    Required

    • Technical- Hands down, we need someone who can understand our productsEight plus years of experience with Metasys would be ideal, along with experience in performing system checks, monitoring operations, programing and troubleshooting BMS systems. Deep understanding of an efficient Control system & design, especially the chiller plantroom and airside, with various controls strategy applications.

    • Experienced – Someone with Eight or more years’ experience  with a company like Johnson Controls would be very desirable. Knowledge of Johnson Controls’s Metasys, Easy IO, Facility Explorer or OpenBlue Enterprise Manager would be an added advantage.

    • Articulate – Your writing, communication and facilitation skills must be strong in order to clearly articulate and transfer the content.    

    • Education – Holds a Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, Control Engineering, Sustainable Building Design, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.

    • Detailed – Realizes the importance of details in leading to impactful outcomes.

    • Collaborative – Collaborates with instructional designers, learning professionals, product managers, program managers, stakeholders, and more people in the business than we can count.

    • Professional – Has personal ethics, does quality work, and has a positive attitude.
