What You Will Do
Service and troubleshoot wet, dry, and pre-action systems; fire pump–based fire sprinkler systems; and backflows, including performing repairs and internal inspections.
How You Will Do It
• Follow verbal and written instructions and read/understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
• Carry or move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 pounds. Work in unusual or difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Properly dispose of all trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work. Wear required safety equipment, including bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves, face mask, and safety‑toed boots.
• Properly secure all Johnson Controls Fire Protection tools and equipment at the end of each work period to prevent damage or loss.
• Use computer/phone applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and iPhone apps.
• Complete and submit time reports and other required documents.
• Immediately notify the dispatcher/supervisor of any changes, discrepancies, or coordination issues that impact activities or schedules.
• Work alternate shifts or weekends as needed to meet customer service on‑call requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work independently when required.
What We Look For
Required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre‑action sprinkler systems and fire pump systems
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• 3–5 years of industry experience
• Overnight travel may be required
Preferred
• Backflow license (or willingness to obtain one)
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25-33 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
