What you will do

As an HVAC-R Spare Parts Team Leader within the Spare Parts business at Johnson Controls South Africa, you will play a key role in ensuring, sales, technical support and operational efficiency for our customers and internal teams. You will:

• Provide telephonic technical support to customers regarding installation, application, and product specification
• Manage and administer inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels
• Oversee the regional ordering function, ensuring timely and efficient procurement of spare parts
• Manage the sales team to deliver annual targets
• Coordinate customer product deliveries, including shipping, receiving, and logistics activities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational performance

How you will do it

You will succeed in this role by combining strong technical expertise with operational discipline and customer-focused communication. You will:

• Diagnose customer issues effectively and provide clear, solution-oriented technical and sales guidance
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with internal control standards
• Collaborate closely with logistics, warehouse, and service teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment
• Monitor delivery timelines and proactively address any delays or operational bottlenecks
• Deliver hands-on training and coaching to warehouse staff to ensure safe and efficient handling practices
• Apply structured problem-solving and analytical skills to improve service processes and customer satisfaction
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders through responsive and professional support

What we look for

Required

• University degree in Engineering, Technical Sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 6 years of experience in technical support, service operations, or a related engineering function
• 6 years’ experience with HVAC, IREF, Controls and fire and security products, JCI products preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of installation, application, and service processes
• Experience with inventory management, ordering systems, and logistics coordination
• Ability to train and guide and manage direct reporting sales personal
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong problem-solving abilities and customer-oriented mindset
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems
