About the role
We are looking for a Design Engineer with experience in fire suppression systems to join our Fire Suppression Design Team based in Newcastle. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality system designs across a range of regional projects, working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
To support full training, onboarding, and integration into the team, this role will be office‑based for the first 6 months. Following this period, hybrid working will be available, subject to performance and agreement with your Design Manager.
You will also attend occasional UK site visits for surveys, progress reviews, drawing mark‑ups, and client design meetings.
What you will do
Interpret and develop customer design requirements into compliant fire suppression solutions
Produce and manage design schedules to support approval, fabrication, and construction deadlines
Work closely with sales and contracts teams on specifications, installation requirements, and system layouts
Complete Design Risk Assessments in line with company and regulatory standards
Maintain clear, professional communication with clients throughout the design phase
Support smooth project handover from sales through to installation and completion

What we look for
Required:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the design or engineering of sprinkler or fire suppression systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
Preferred:
Experience using 3D Revit
