What you will do:
Under direct supervision and local mentoring, the HVAC Controls Technician Intern will support the hardware design and software programming of HVAC control systems to meet project requirements. You will gain hands-on experience working with building automation technologies and performing technical tasks supporting real-world customer solutions.
How you will do it:
As an HVAC Controls Technician Intern, you will:
Assist with HVAC control system programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance
Work with mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage control components
Load system-level controller software and verify system functionality
Perform commissioning tasks and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators)
Communicate effectively with customers and team members to support successful project execution
What we look for:
Required Qualifications
High school diploma and currently enrolled in a community college
Understanding of HVAC systems, sequence of operations, and applications
Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical or electro-mechanical fields
Ability to use hand and power tools, including electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter
Strong attention to detail
Effective communication and listening skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience or coursework in HVAC, electrical systems, or controls technology
Interest in building automation, controls, or related fields
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

HIRING HOURLY RANGE:
$20/hour (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.)
