As a Quantity Surveyor at Johnson Controls, you will take ownership of the commercial delivery of projects from contract award through to final account, playing a pivotal role in driving profitability and protecting the business from risk. Working closely with Sales and Projects teams, you will provide expert commercial and contractual guidance across a diverse portfolio of projects. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will have accountability for key projects within your region, making a direct impact on business performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term growth. How You Will Do It
Manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects from award through to completion
Administer contracts in line with company policies and procedures
Lead variation management, ensuring timely agreement and maximisation of project value
Prepare, submit and agree final accounts to achieve positive financial outcomes
Identify, develop and substantiate claims and entitlement opportunities
Monitor project budgets, forecasts and financial performance
Escalate commercial risks and implement corrective actions where required
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve commercial challenges
Drive continuous improvement and best practice across commercial processes
What We Are Looking For
Required:
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up
Proven track record working on projects ranging from £50k to £10m
Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to manage risk effectively
Experience within Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) environments
Ability to lead and manage complex commercial projects
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly
Strong problem-solving capability and ability to make independent decisions
Preferred:
Experience across disciplines such as HVAC&R, Security, Fire Detection/Suppression, or BMS/Controls
RICS accreditation or working towards it
